THE RETREAT OF GLACIERS - ON SULDENFERNER GLACIER
The expedition goes into the world of glaciers around Mount Ortler, the highest mountain in South Tyrol. It is a trip into the past as the rising, annual average temperatures cause the glaciers to melt resulting in a continuous change of these 3000-meter high landscapes. The pictures are snapshots, where blue glacier ice, crevasses, and glacier mouths can be seen, which have probably disappeared in the meantime. What remains is huge moraines and memories of a white ice world.
