Zaandijk is a village and former municipality in the province of North Holland. In 1974 the municipality of Zaandijk merged into the municipality of Zaanstad.
Zaandijk probably still has the most characteristics of old Zaan construction of all villages within the municipality. This is particularly visible on the Zaanoever. The De Bleeke Dood flour mill is an important early industrial monument in Zaandijk.
Zaandijk is best known for the Zaanse Schans, which is located directly opposite Zaandijk on the other side of the Zaan. The Zaanse Schans is the largest tourist attraction of the Zaan region and it is located in Zaandam, but it is much closer to Zaandijk than to the center of Zaandam. At the Zaanse Schans is also the Zaans Museum. The nearest train station is Zaandijk Zaanse Schans
