Site Analysis for the Junipero Serra Statue at Santa Clara University and its surrounding area.
Despite his historical significance, the depiction of Junipero Serra is uncharacteristic of his legacy. Considering the elements of spatial dynamics and perspective in the statue's interpretation, the benefactors at the William H. Hannon Foundation depict Junipero Serra as a powerful and righteous figure of the Mission-era. We analyzed the statue and its proximity to historical spaces, which play an important role in the accurate interpretation of Serra's actions.
